Rumor has it that Motorola's betting on a few Android devices to rescue the staggering OEM from their fiscal slump. As Sanjay Jha - CEO of Mobile Devices - put it, "we plan to have differentiated Android-based devices in stores in time for the fourth-quarter holiday season."

BGR says the Calgary (shown below) will be Motorola's first Android device, headed to Verizon in the second quarter. Match this up with a Phandroid report of Verizon's job listing for an Android Devices Expert, and the this bit starts to gain a traction.

One of the desired traits in the job advert is experience with RIM JDK development. I'm not exactly sure where that fits in here, but it brings to mind the BB-esque Ironman, widely thought to be Calgary's Android follow-up (second photo).

Motorola announces the Clutch i465
We reported on it when it passed through the FCC offices, and now the device has been officially announced by Motorola.  Referred to as the 'Clutch,' it meets military specifications for solar radiation, shock, vibration, and dust.  Geared for messaging, the phone offers a 3 megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard, 2.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 1.2, and a 1,130 mAh battery.  Reports have the i465 landing on Boost Mobile.  Pricing and availability have not been announced as of yet.  Via Motorola



CDMA Palm Eos coming to Sprint later in the year?
After the news broke last week about the Palm Eos, a tipster informed PhoneNews that the company was preparing a CDMA version of the webOS-based device for Sprint.  Supposedly under testing for a third quarter launch this year, specifications were said to be virtually identical, but sporting EVDO Rev. A instead of HSDPA.  Details are sketchy at this time, to say the least - we'll keep you updated as we hear more.  Via PhoneNews



AT&T testing $3/day GoPhone unlimited plan, competing with themselves
According to a report by PhoneNews, AT&T is testing a $3/day GoPhone unlimited plan in select Florida markets.  The plan is said to cost $3 per day on the days that the customer uses their device, thus resulting in savings over their post-paid unlimited plan ($99.99/month).  Both plans are voice only; no data or messaging of any kind is included.  No information has been given as to when (or if) a nationwide launch is a possibility.  Via PhoneNews

BlackBerry Curve 8900 coming to AT&T
Unofficial sources have pegged the BlackBerry Curve 8900 to arrive at AT&T as early as June.  Sporting the same themes as the BlackBerry Bold, the device will essentially be the same as the T-Mobile version, with the exception of a black battery door (instead of gray) and a slightly modified numeric keypad (white keys instead of red).  Pricing hasn't been announced as of yet.  Via BGR
